ASCOT STILL ON GINGEMBRE`S AGENDA

Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup second Gingembre could still run in his next intended target at Ascot later this month, it was revealed today.

The six-year-old picked up a leg injury when chasing home King`s Road at Newbury last month and it was feared he would have to miss the Tote Silver Cup on December 16.

However, owner-trainer Lavinia Taylor has issued an upbeat bulletin about the gelding.

She said: 'He`s very fit and very well and he`s got over the slight problem he had after the Hennessy.

'We hope to go to Ascot a week on Saturday.

'We`ll have to get two good gallops into him and we`ll only go if he`s bucking and squealing but I`d say it`s 60-40 he`d go.

'He`s only a young horse and we don`t want to over-race him but it is such a big prize.'
